Restoration Project

Original Karl Springer designed lamp from the 70's.

The lamp base and shade was originally covered in a rust/brown snakeskin.  Over the years the snakeskin became very brittle and was crumbling apart.

Lamp base covered in snakeskin.

Shade with deteriorated snakeskin.
In the process of being stripped.

Salvaging the original covering on a Karl Springer piece is always preferred but the hides on this lamp could not be saved.  Since the shade and base were still in good condition, a recover job was in order.  After stripping the lamp, I recovered with python snakeskin in Pantones 2013 color of the year, Emerald Green.

Lamp is available through storefront Solo Modern on 1st Dibs.
